Custom steering wheels for the Mercedes-Benz SLK R170
The first SLK was built from 1996 to 2004 and brought the folding hard top to a compact roadster, from the SLK 200 to the SLK 32 AMG. It is a small, driver-focused car, and the wheel makes more difference to how it feels than almost anything else in the cabin.
Which wheels fit the SLK?
The builder offers three wheels for the R170: the Sport Line wheel with its sportier rim, and two SL-style wheels derived from the R129 SL. Not sure which suits your car? Compare the pictures in the builder, or send us a photo of your current wheel.
Wood and colour
Match the wood to the trim already in your car, or go for a carbon top and bottom for a sportier look. We can match the leather to your interior, and the SL-style wheels can also be built two-tone.

Before you order
Every wheel starts from a used original Mercedes-Benz core, so it bolts straight onto your SLK. We rebuild everything you see and touch. Parts inside the wheel can show some corrosion from age, which is out of our hands, but when we source a wheel for you we pick the best core we can find.
Sport Line wheels are hard to find, so for those we build on the wheel you send us.
If your car has a driver airbag, remove the unit before sending your wheel and keep it at home; we never ship airbag units. When the wheel comes back, have the airbag refitted by a qualified mechanic.
SLK steering wheel questions
Will an SL-style wheel fit my SLK?
Yes. Both SL-style wheels in the builder fit the R170, and they cost less than a Sport Line wheel for a similar look.
How long does it take?
Most builds take one to two weeks in our workshop. We email you photos of the finished wheel to approve, then it ships to you anywhere in the world.
