Custom steering wheels for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class W176
The W176 A-Class, built from 2012 to 2018, turned the A-Class into a proper compact hot hatch, all the way up to the A 45 AMG. Its sporty three-spoke wheel is the part you hold every day, and the easiest way to make the car feel like yours.
Which wheel does the builder show?
A-Class cars built 2012 to 2015 have the three-spoke AMG Line wheel, with an OEM or a custom grip and a flat bottom or square shape. From 2015 to 2018 the A-Class has the later sport three-spoke, flat-bottomed as standard, with a sport or square shape as options. Pick your years in the builder and it shows the right wheel.
Hatchbacks do a lot of short trips and parking, so the leather at 9 and 3 o'clock is usually the first thing to go shiny.
What you can change on your A-Class wheel
- Shape: on the AMG Line wheel an OEM or custom grip with a flat bottom or square shape; on the 2014+ wheel the OEM shape, a sport grip or a square shape.
- Top and bottom: leather, carbon fibre, forged carbon, piano black, or wood: Burl Walnut, Black Ash Wood.
- Sides: leather, perforated leather or Alcantara.
- Details: a wrapped trim, a leather or Alcantara airbag cover, and a 12 o'clock stripe in yellow, white, red, orange or black.
- Functions: the wheel's electronics and paddle shifters, heating and lane assist vibration.
Build ideas for the A-Class
A 45 look: the square shape with carbon fibre top and bottom, Alcantara sides and a red 12 o'clock stripe.
Black Ash: the OEM shape with Black Ash Wood top and bottom and perforated leather sides, a calm, modern finish.
Daily refresh: perforated leather with a leather airbag cover, so a worn wheel feels new again.
Before you order
Every wheel starts from an original Mercedes-Benz core: send us your own, or we source one for you. We rebuild everything you see and touch, and when we source a wheel we pick the best core we can find.
If your car has a driver airbag, remove the unit before sending your wheel and keep it at home; we never ship airbag units. When the wheel comes back, have the airbag refitted by a qualified mechanic.
A-Class steering wheel questions
Can I have wood on my A-Class wheel?
Yes. The builder offers Burl Walnut and Black Ash Wood, the woods of the W176 era.
How long does it take?
Most builds take one to two weeks in our workshop. We email you photos of the finished wheel to approve, then it ships to you anywhere in the world.
