Custom steering wheels for the Mercedes-Benz W123
The W123 was built from 1976 to 1986 as a saloon, the S123 estate and the C123 coupe, from the 200D to the 280E and the 300D, and many are still on the road today. Its steering wheel is one of the parts that shows the car's age most, and a rebuilt original keeps the cabin looking right.
Which wheel does your W123 have?
The builder covers W123s built from 1980 to 1986, with the four-spoke wheel in a standard and a smaller-diameter version. These wheels have a horn pad in the centre rather than an airbag, and the builder shows the right options for them.
Not every W123 year is covered yet. If your car was built before 1980, or its wheel does not match the pictures, contact us before you order and we will tell you what we can do.
Wood and colour
Choose the wood that matches the trim already in your car. Zebrano, burl walnut and bird's-eye maple are all available, or you can keep the wheel plain black for a factory look.
W123 interiors came in many colours, and we can match the leather to yours.
Build ideas for the W123
Factory fresh: smooth black leather, restored to how it looked when the car was new.
Wood top and bottom: a touch of wood that picks up the dashboard trim.
Smaller and sportier: the smaller-diameter wheel with the thicker sport grip, for a more direct feel.
Before you order
Every wheel starts from a used original Mercedes-Benz core, so it bolts straight onto your W123. We rebuild everything you see and touch. Parts inside the wheel can show some corrosion from age, which is out of our hands, but when we source a wheel for you we pick the best core we can find.
W123 steering wheel questions
My W123 is older than 1980. Can you still help?
Possibly. Contact us with a photo of your wheel before you order.
How long does it take?
Most builds take one to two weeks in our workshop. We email you photos of the finished wheel to approve, then it ships to you anywhere in the world.
