Custom steering wheels for the BMW 3 Series E46
The E46 3 Series is a modern classic, and its thick three-spoke M Sport wheel is one of the best-loved BMW wheels of its time. After twenty years of driving most of them are worn, and a rebuild brings back the feel the car had when it was new.
This page covers the E46 saloon, coupe, Touring and convertible, and the E46 M3, built 1998 to 2006.
Which wheel does the builder show?
The three-spoke M Sport wheel of the E46, the same wheel on every body style and on the M3. The builder shows it with every option for your car.
On an E46 the leather usually goes first at 9 and 3 o'clock, where the thumbs rest, and the top of the rim turns smooth and shiny.
What you can change on your 3 Series wheel
- Shape: the OEM shape, a clean or a sporty flat bottom, or a square shape.
- Top and bottom: leather, carbon fibre, forged carbon, piano black or wood: Walnut, Vavona, Light Poplar Wood.
- Sides: smooth nappa, perforated leather or Alcantara.
- Trim: the spoke trim in Alcantara, carbon, forged carbon or piano black.
- 12 o'clock stripe: M tricolour, yellow, white, red, orange or black.

Before you order
This wheel is built on the one from your car: send it to us, we rebuild it in our workshop and send it back. We cannot supply this wheel ourselves.
Remove the airbag unit before sending your wheel and keep it at home; we never ship airbag units. When the wheel comes back, have the airbag refitted by a qualified mechanic.

Not this one. We build on your own wheel, so you send it to us and we return it rebuilt.
How long does it take?
Most builds take one to two weeks once your wheel is with us. We email you photos of the finished wheel to approve, then it ships back to you anywhere in the world.
