About the Becker BE1690
The BE1690 is a Becker cassette radio with RDS that Mercedes-Benz sold as the Exquisit, under Mercedes part number A 003 820 56 86. It has six station presets for each waveband. Like every Becker unit, it asks for its anti-theft code once it has lost power.
Its code is a sequence of 5 presses on the station preset buttons, using buttons 1 to 6, not a four digit number, so four digit codes from forums or generators will not work on it.
How to tell it is a BE1690
Six radios in our lookup were sold as the Exquisit: BE1490, BE1491, BE1492, BE1690, BE1691 and BE1692. Each is a separate model with its own codes, so go by the BE number on the label rather than the name on the front.
Where to find the serial number
The serial is on the label on the radio housing, next to Serial-No., on the same label as the model number. We only need its last four digits. If a digit is hard to read, photograph the label and zoom in: a misread digit gives a code that will not work.
Checking for your code
Enter the last four digits of the serial in the form above. The check is free and tells you straight away whether your code is on record. If it is, you pay once and the code is emailed to you automatically, usually within minutes of payment, at any hour. If it is not, you pay nothing.
Entering the code
When the radio asks for its code, press the preset buttons in the order given in your email, one press for each number. Your email shows the exact sequence for your serial number.
If the code is not accepted
Stop and contact us rather than trying other codes. After repeated wrong entries a Becker radio shows WAIT and refuses new attempts for a while. The lockout only counts down while the radio is switched on, so leave it on until the message clears. If the code we sent does not work, we refund you.

Is there a Becker BE1690 code calculator?
No. Becker codes are not worked out from the serial number by a formula. They were assigned and recorded, so getting your code means looking it up against your serial number, which is what the check above does.
Is the radio code the same as the unlock code or security code?
Yes. Radio code, unlock code, security code and anti-theft code all mean the same thing here: the button sequence tied to your radio's serial number.

Then the check tells you so before you pay, and you pay nothing.
