Which radio do you have?

Search by the BE number printed on the radio, or by its name.

    Where do I find the model number?

    The model number starts with BE followed by four digits. It is on the label on top of the radio housing, next to Model-No., so you will usually need to slide the unit out of the dashboard to read it.

    Where do I find the serial number?

    The serial is on the same label, next to Serial-No. If a digit is hard to read, photograph the label and zoom in. A misread digit gives a code that will not work.

    How Becker and Mercedes-Benz radio codes work

    Every Becker built radio leaves the factory with an anti theft code tied to its serial number. Disconnect the battery, pull the unit, or move it to another car, and the head unit asks for that code before it will play. Until it gets the right one the radio is dead, and after a few wrong attempts it locks harder and starts making you wait between tries.

    Two kinds of code. Depending on the model, yours is either a four digit number you key in, or a sequence of five presses on the preset station buttons. Radios with no numeric keypad use the button kind, which is why a plain four digit code you found on a forum will never work on them. The page tells you which kind your radio takes before you pay, and the code you get is the one tied to your exact serial number, not a generic reset or a master code.

    Entering it. Switch on, wait for the code prompt, then key in the digits or press the station buttons in order. Most units want you to confirm afterwards, usually by holding a preset or pressing the source button. If the first code is rejected, stop and contact us rather than guessing, because the lockout gets longer every time.

    How do I find my Becker radio code?

    Slide the radio out of the dashboard and read the label on top. You need the model number, which starts with BE, and the last four digits of the serial number. Enter both above and we will tell you immediately whether your code is on record.

    How long does it take to get the code?

    It is automatic. The code is emailed to you within a few minutes of your payment going through, at any hour. You are not waiting on us to read a message and reply.

    Do I need to remove the radio from the car?

    Usually yes, because the label with the model and serial number is on the top or the side of the housing. Becker radios come out with a pair of extraction keys, which are cheap and widely available.

    My radio has preset buttons instead of a keypad. What then?

    Those models use a button code: five presses on the preset buttons rather than four digits. It works the same way and we tell you the exact sequence. The page says which type your radio uses before you pay.

    Can I get a Becker radio code for free?

    Checking is free, and if we do not have your code you pay nothing. The code itself is paid, because it comes from a serial number database that took real work to assemble and verify. Be careful with free code generators: most return a four digit number for every serial you type in, including radios that do not use four digit codes at all, and a wrong code costs you attempts before the unit locks out.

    Is there a Becker radio code calculator?

    Not a real one. Becker codes are not calculated from the serial number by any formula, they were assigned and recorded, which is why this is a lookup against a database rather than a calculator. Anything advertised as a Becker code calculator is either guessing or doing the same lookup behind the scenes.

    What if the code does not work?

    Tell us and we will refund you. Do not keep trying codes: Becker units lock out after a few failed attempts, so if the first one is rejected, stop and get in touch.

    Is my radio in the list?

    The list at the bottom of this page is every model we can decode, so if your BE number is there, we have you covered. If it is not, we cannot recover that code from the serial number and there is nothing we could sell you that would work.

    Is this an official Mercedes-Benz service?

    No. RS Auto is an independent specialist. A dealer can also supply the code, usually with proof of ownership and a longer wait.
